Welder (Nakuru, Kenya)
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Welder, you will be responsible for using specialized equipment to cut, join, and manipulate metal materials for various construction and manufacturing projects. Your duties will include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate welding methods, and ensuring the quality and integrity of the finished product.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints or project specifications to determine welding requirements
- Select appropriate welding method based on materials being used
- Set up and operate welding equipment including gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
- Clean and prepare workpieces to ensure proper weld quality
- Use hand tools and grinders to shape or trim workpieces as needed
- Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet specifications and standards
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment or materials as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Welder or similar role
- Familiarity with various welding techniques including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints and project specifications
- Proficient in using hand tools such as grinders and clamps
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality welds
- Excellent understanding of safety procedures and practices in a workshop setting
- Physical strength and stamina to work with heavy materials for extended periods of time
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in welding preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role required; experience in construction or manufacturing industries preferred
- Must be able to pass a weld test upon hire
Salary: 1300$ per month (based on experience and qualifications)
