African Moderator in Washington, USA


We are seeking a full-time African Moderator to join our team in Washington, USA. As a Moderator, you will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring various online forums and communities to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for all members. Your role will also involve moderating discussions and enforcing community guidelines to promote healthy and constructive conversations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor various online forums and communities to ensure compliance with community guidelines
- Review user-generated content and take necessary actions such as editing or removing inappropriate content
- Respond to user inquiries and escalate issues to the appropriate team members when needed
- Moderate discussions by encouraging respectful communication and discouraging offensive or harmful language
- Work closely with the community management team to implement new policies or procedures as needed
- Keep up-to-date on current trends and issues within the African community to better understand the needs of our users

Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of African culture, traditions, and current affairs
- Excellent written communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Experience moderating online forums or communities is preferred
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, empathy, and professionalism
- Knowledge of social media platforms and their functionalities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Salary:
This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $1700 per month.
