Head Chef - Bungoma, Kenya


We are hiring a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at our restaurant in Bungoma, Kenya. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for creating and executing innovative menus that showcase the best of African cuisine while also incorporating international influences. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent culinary techniques, and a passion for creating delicious dishes.

Responsibilities:
- Develop creative menus that highlight traditional African flavors while incorporating global influences
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of quality and consistency
- Manage inventory and ensure proper ordering of ingredients to minimize waste and control costs
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Collaborate with management to plan special events and catering services
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any issues or complaints promptly

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high volume restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of African cuisine with the ability to create unique dishes using local ingredients
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team
- Proficient in all areas of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking techniques, plating, etc.
- Familiarity with budgeting, inventory management, and cost control measures
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed

Salary: $1200 per month
