Head Chef
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a passion for African and Egyptian cuisine and be able to create innovative dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional recipes. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef who is looking to take on a managerial role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create unique and flavorful menus that showcase African and Egyptian cuisine
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Monitor kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or promotions
- Develop relationships with local suppliers to source fresh and high-quality ingredients
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or taste
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in African or Egyptian cuisine
- Proven experience in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Swahili is a plus)
- Must be willing to relocate to Bungoma, Kenya (accommodation can be provided)
Salary: $1700 per month
