Executive Chef - Indian Cuisine (Mombasa)
We are a renowned hotel in Mombasa, known for our exceptional culinary experience. We are seeking a talented Executive Chef with expertise in Indian cuisine to lead our kitchen and uphold our reputation for delicious and authentic dishes. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu creation, food preparation, and supervising kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
- Create unique and innovative menus that showcase traditional Indian flavors while also catering to international clientele
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that dishes are cooked to perfection and presented beautifully
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring their adherence to sanitation and safety standards
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and equipment, placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with restaurant managers to ensure a smooth flow of operations between the kitchen and dining area
- Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and portion size
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a reputable establishment specializing in Indian cuisine
- Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and ingredients
- Ability to create unique and appealing menus that cater to different dietary preferences
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Attention to detail with a strong emphasis on maintaining high-quality standards
- Good communication skills in English
