Indian Chef in Nakuru, Kenya
We are seeking a skilled Indian Chef to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes according to traditional recipes and techniques. You should have a strong knowledge of Indian spices and ingredients, as well as the ability to create new and unique dishes. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working as an Indian Chef and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Fluency in English is required and preference will be given to candidates of Indian nationality. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of 1800$ per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes according to traditional recipes
- Create new and unique dishes using traditional Indian spices and ingredients
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times
- Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff members
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new menu items
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience working as an Indian Chef
- Knowledge of traditional Indian cuisine, spices, and ingredients
- Ability to create new dishes while maintaining authenticity
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Team player with good leadership skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A culinary degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), and work in a hot environment.
Working Conditions:
This job will primarily be performed in a kitchen setting with exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment. The work schedule may vary depending on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
