Database Administrator
We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Administrator to join our growing team in Los Angeles. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, performance, and availability. You will work closely with our development team to design, implement, and optimize database structures and processes to support our business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Design and implement database structures for new applications
- Ensure data security by implementing access controls and regularly backing up data
- Optimize database performance through index tuning and other techniques
- Collaborate with development team to ensure efficient use of databases in applications
- Develop data retrieval and reporting processes for various business needs
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Database Administrator
- Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle databases
- Strong understanding of database architecture, design, optimization, and maintenance
- Experience with backup and recovery procedures
- Familiarity with data security regulations such as GDPR or HIPAA
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Database Administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS)
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python
Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Los Angeles (accommodation can be provided if necessary)
