Livestock Specialist - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livestock Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Livestock Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and care of livestock on our farm. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for animal husbandry and proven experience in managing livestock operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily care and maintenance of all livestock on the farm, including feeding, cleaning, and health checks
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of all animals and provide appropriate medical treatment when needed
- Develop and implement breeding programs to ensure optimal productivity and genetic diversity
- Monitor herd/flock performance and make recommendations for improvements in nutrition, housing, and other management practices
- Oversee the selection, purchase, and sale of livestock to maintain optimal herd/flock size
- Train and supervise farm staff on proper handling techniques for livestock
- Maintain accurate records of herd/flock performance, health issues, breeding data, etc.
- Follow all biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of disease within the herd/flock
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing livestock operations
- Knowledge of animal husbandry best practices and proven experience in implementing them
- Ability to handle large animals safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues before they become major problems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
Salary:
$1100 per month (tax-free) plus benefits package including accommodation, transportation, medical insurance, etc.
