Librarian

We are hiring a Librarian to join our team at a prestigious library in Las Vegas, USA. This is a full-time position that requires previous experience in library science and a deep passion for books and knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and planning and promoting educational programs and events. The Librarian will also be in charge of maintaining the library's online resources, including e-books and databases. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as proficiency in technology and research tools. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with diverse communities from all over the world, including Pakistani and African patrons. Fluency in English is preferred but not required. Accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and help them find relevant resources
- Plan and promote educational programs, events, workshops, and book clubs for all ages
- Maintain the library's online resources by updating e-books, databases, and other digital materials
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new collections or services based on community needs
- Train volunteers or interns on basic library tasks such as circulation or shelving
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in literature, technology, education, and library science
- Create displays or exhibits to showcase new books or special collections
- Attend professional development conferences or workshops to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems (e.g. Dewey Decimal Classification)
- Familiarity with online resources such as databases, e-books, or search engines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse patrons
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Passion for books, reading, and knowledge
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed
