Head Chef - Indian and Filipino Cuisine
As a Head Chef specializing in Indian and Filipino cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating and developing menus, and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers. You will also be responsible for managing a team of cooks and ensuring they are trained, motivated, and working efficiently. This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional culinary knowledge in Indian and Filipino cuisine, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Create and develop menus that showcase authentic Indian and Filipino dishes
- Ensure all food is prepared according to company standards and health regulations
- Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and control costs
- Train new kitchen staff on menu items, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
- Motivate team members to maintain high levels of productivity
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, cost control, and menu planning
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a chef specializing in Indian and Filipino cuisine
- Strong understanding of Indian spices and traditional cooking techniques
- Knowledge of different regional cuisines within India and the Philippines
- Ability to create innovative dishes while maintaining authenticity
- Previous experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Hindi or Tagalog is an asset)
Salary: 1700$ per month (accommodation provided)
