Librarian vacancy in Kaunas Lithuania

Junior Librarian

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Librarian to join our team in Kaunas. As a Junior Librarian, you will assist in managing the daily operations of the library, including organizing and maintaining collections, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library services and resources. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a strong knowledge of library procedures. This is an entry-level position suitable for freshers or those looking to start their career in librarianship.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and maintaining library collections using classification systems
- Provide assistance to patrons with research and reference inquiries
- Promote library services and resources through outreach activities
- Process new materials into the library's collection
- Assist in planning and executing programs and events for the community
- Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics and other data
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with library procedures and classification systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Passion for promoting literacy and providing excellent customer service

Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Kaunas, Lithuania (open to non-Lithuanian candidates)

Note: This position is open to Canadian citizens who are willing to relocate to Kaunas. Fluency in English is not required for this role.
