Preservation Architect



As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure that preservation projects are carried out in accordance with local regulations and preservation standards. This position requires a strong understanding of architectural design principles, preservation techniques, and knowledge of historical building materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct site visits and assessments to determine the condition of historical structures
- Develop preservation plans and proposals for restoration projects
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for restoration work
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and craftsmen to ensure proper implementation of restoration plans
- Research historical building materials, methods, and techniques to inform restoration work
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with preservation standards
- Provide guidance on appropriate repairs or replacements for damaged or deteriorated elements
- Obtain necessary approvals from local authorities for restoration projects
- Prepare reports and documentation on project progress for clients and stakeholders

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in restoration or preservation projects
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building materials, and construction techniques used in historical buildings
- Experience working with local government agencies to obtain necessary approvals
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and specifications

This position is based in Acre, a historic city located on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. The city is known for its rich history dating back thousands of years.

Salary:

We offer a competitive salary starting at 1600$ per month.
