Cashier - Almada, Portugal
A reputable retail store in Almada is seeking a skilled and reliable Cashier to join our team on a contract basis. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling cash transactions with customers and ensuring accuracy in all monetary exchanges. This is an urgent position that requires immediate availability.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with exceptional service
- Process transactions using cash registers and electronic scanners
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets to customers
- Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and ensure all cash balances at the end of the shift
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner
- Keep the checkout area clean and well stocked with necessary supplies
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting discrepancies
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Cashier or similar role in a retail setting
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Attention to detail and good mathematical skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or related field is a plus
- Fluency in Portuguese is required; knowledge of English or other languages is an asset
- Must have a biometric passport for identification purposes
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1200$ per month.
