Foundry Technician


Our company in Eldoret is seeking a skilled Foundry Technician to join our team. As a Foundry Technician, you will be responsible for producing high-quality metal castings using various techniques and equipment. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1600 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment such as furnaces, molds, and ladles
- Prepare molds and patterns for casting according to specifications
- Pour molten metal into molds and ensure proper filling and solidification
- Remove finished castings from molds and clean them for further processing
- Inspect castings for defects and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Monitor the melting, pouring, and cooling processes to ensure quality control
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for casting operations
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years experience in foundry operations
- Knowledge of different casting methods such as sand casting, investment casting, or die casting
- Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect defects in castings
- Good physical stamina for working with heavy equipment and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in foundry technology or related field
- Experience operating automated foundry equipment
- Familiarity with metallurgical testing methods
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques
