Preservation Architect (Part-Time)
We are seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team on a part-time basis in Lisbon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in historic preservation and conservation, with experience working on restoration projects. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist with the preservation and maintenance of historic buildings and structures in the city.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and analysis on historical buildings and structures
- Assessing the condition of existing structures and developing plans for restoration or repair
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop preservation plans
- Producing detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for restoration projects
- Overseeing construction projects to ensure adherence to preservation standards
- Providing guidance on best practices for preserving historic buildings and structures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation/conservation projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and historic preservation guidelines
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Must be fluent in English (knowledge of Portuguese is a plus)
This part-time position offers a competitive salary of $1600 per month. The working hours will be flexible, with an average of 20 hours per week. Please note that this position does not include accommodation.
