Head Chef (Malayalee or Nepali) - Ar-Ruwais
As a Head Chef at our restaurant in Ar-Ruwais, we are seeking a talented and experienced individual who is either Malayalee or Nepali. This preference is due to our cuisine specializing in South Asian dishes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and previous experience as a head chef. They must possess excellent leadership skills and be able to manage and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create new menu items and ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other assistants
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, health, and safety standards
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager to develop strategies for improving customer satisfaction
- Maintain a positive work environment by leading by example and promoting teamwork
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a head chef or similar role
- Experience working with South Asian cuisine is preferred
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique menu items
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining quality standards
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
- Relevant certifications such as ServSafe or Food Handler's License
are preferred
Salary: $1000/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Ar-Ruwais
Language Preference: Malayalee or Nepali
