Junior Database Administrator



We are hiring a Junior Database Administrator to join our growing team in Porto. As a Junior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database systems
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues
- Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database structures
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and other techniques
- Ensure data security by implementing access controls and encryption
- Create documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations
- Stay updated on emerging database technologies and best practices

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong understanding of database architecture and administration principles
- Experience with SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
- Familiarity with database design concepts (e.g. normalization)
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies
- Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning tools (e.g. SQL Profiler)
- Understanding of security best practices for databases
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills

Preferred:
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Experience working with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS)
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)

Salary: 1800$ per month
