Pastry Chef



As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts for our restaurant located in the beautiful city of Funchal. You will work closely with our culinary team to develop new pastry recipes, ensure quality control, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of pastries and desserts according to the restaurant's menu and standards
- Develop new recipes that cater to different dietary preferences or restrictions
- Work with the pastry team to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all products
- Order and maintain inventory of ingredients needed for pastries and desserts
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste to meet budgetary goals
- Train new staff members on pastry techniques, hygiene standards, and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by following food safety regulations
- Collaborate with other chefs to create seasonal menus or special event menus

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of different pastry techniques, methods, ingredients, and equipment
- Creativity in developing new recipes while also following traditional techniques
- Strong attention to detail for plating designs
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely delivery of desserts
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)

We offer competitive salary starting at $1600 per month depending on experience.
