Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for assessing, preserving and restoring buildings and structures of historical significance in the city of Porto. You will work full-time and need to have previous experience in this field. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and excellent project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to evaluate the condition of historic structures and identify necessary repairs or restoration work
- Develop preservation plans and strategies for each project, taking into consideration budgets and timelines
- Collaborate with a team of engineers, contractors and other professionals to execute restoration projects
- Utilize your knowledge of historical building materials, techniques and styles to ensure accurate restoration work
- Oversee all aspects of the restoration process, from obtaining necessary permits to managing budgets and schedules
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards for historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Preservation Architect
- Strong understanding of architectural history, materials, techniques and styles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or other design software
- Excellent project management skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
