Reference Librarian



The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing information and research assistance to library patrons in the city of Salalah. This full-time position is open to individuals of any nationality, with no English language proficiency required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of library resources and information literacy, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with research inquiries, helping them locate relevant resources and materials
- Provide guidance and instruction on how to use the library's catalog, databases, and other resources
- Develop and maintain a collection of reference materials, keeping it up-to-date and organized
- Conduct information literacy sessions for students and community members
- Collaborate with other librarians to create user-friendly guides and tutorials on research techniques
- Manage interlibrary loan requests and maintain relationships with other libraries
- Stay current on industry trends and new technologies related to reference services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting, preferably in a reference role
- Strong knowledge of library resources such as databases, cataloging systems, and reference materials
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work well with diverse populations
- Proficiency in Arabic is preferred but not required
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Salary: 1700$ per month
