Preservation Architect
We are seeking a talented Preservation Architect with experience in historic preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse projects. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the preservation of historical buildings and structures while also adapting them for modern use. This position is based in Atlanta and is open to both Indian nationals and local residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their condition, historical significance, and potential for adaptive reuse
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop preservation plans that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements
- Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for restoration and renovation projects
- Overseeing the implementation of preservation plans and providing guidance to contractors during construction
- Conducting regular site visits to ensure that work is being done according to plans and specifications
- Reviewing project progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Conducting research on historical buildings, materials, techniques, and relevant laws to inform preservation efforts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, codes, and regulations related to historic buildings
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit as well as other relevant design software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to various stakeholders including clients, contractors, and government agencies
Salary:
Salary for this position is $1400 per month.
