Preservation Architect



The Preservation Architect will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Faro. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in this field and possess a strong knowledge of architectural history, materials, and techniques.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and surveys of historical buildings to determine preservation needs
- Develop preservation plans and strategies for the restoration of buildings
- Oversee and manage restoration projects, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to execute restoration plans
- Conduct research on architectural history, materials, and techniques to inform preservation decisions
- Prepare reports and proposals for preservation projects
- Work closely with local authorities to obtain necessary permits for restoration work
- Maintain accurate documentation of all preservation projects

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in preservation architecture or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of architectural history, materials, and techniques used in restoration work
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other architectural software programs
- Experience working with local authorities to obtain necessary permits
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1500$ per month.

This role is based in the beautiful city of Faro. Please note that accommodation will not be provided but visa sponsorship can be arranged if needed.
