Contract Librarian in Isa Town, Bahrain



We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team on a contract basis in Isa Town, Bahrain. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our library's collection, providing reference assistance to patrons, and overseeing the daily operations of the library.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference guidance
- Develop and maintain an efficient system for cataloging and shelving materials
- Oversee the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Plan and implement programs and events that promote literacy and engage the community
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers as needed
- Handle administrative tasks such as budget management, ordering new materials, and maintaining statistical records
- Ensure that all library policies and procedures are followed by staff and patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Librarian or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems, reference resources, and information retrieval techniques
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
