Carpenter - Woodworking Specialist


We are in need of a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Dickirch. As a Woodworking Specialist, you will be responsible for crafting and repairing structures made of wood, including furniture, cabinets, and building frameworks. You will use a variety of woodworking tools and techniques to measure, cut, shape, and smooth wood pieces according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in both rough and finish carpentry and possess a keen eye for detail. This is a contract position with a salary of 1700$, which includes accommodation. Candidates must have a biometric passport and be fluent in English.

As a Carpenter, your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Reading blueprints and drawings to determine project specifications
- Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials using rulers, squares, or other measuring tools
- Cutting, shaping and smoothing wood using hand or power tools
- Assembling structures or furniture by nailing or screwing pieces together
- Installing structures such as windows, doors, stairs, cabinets, or molding
- Repairing damaged structures or items by replacing broken parts or using wood filler
- Applying finishes such as varnish or paint to protect the wood surface

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools including saws, chisels, planes and power tools such as drills and sanders
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mathematical skills for measuring materials accurately
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy materials
- Attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:
- Trade school diploma in Carpentry or relevant certification
- Experience with both rough and finish carpentry
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and in a team
