Librarian Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian Assistant to join our team in Jizan. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for helping to manage the library's collection, assisting with library programs and events, and providing excellent customer service to library patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing the library's collection by cataloging new materials, shelving books, and ensuring organization of shelves
- Assist with planning and promoting library programs and events for all ages
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with finding materials, answering questions, and providing referrals when necessary
- Process new library card applications and maintain accurate records of patron accounts
- Assist with maintaining the appearance of the library by tidying up shelves and keeping the space clean and presentable
- Stay informed about current trends in literature and technology to make recommendations for new materials or services that could benefit patrons
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop new ways to engage with the community through the library

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Passion for literature, learning, and helping others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with library cataloging systems is a plus
- Knowledge of Malayalee or Nepali language is preferred but not required

Salary: $1300 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Jizan, Saudi Arabia (candidates of all nationalities are welcome)
