Database Administrator
We are in need of a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Svalbard. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases. As a Database Administrator, your main duties will include monitoring database systems, implementing security measures, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. You will also be responsible for backing up data and ensuring its integrity, as well as optimizing database performance.
To excel in this role, you must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent knowledge of database management systems. You should also have experience with data backup and recovery procedures and be familiar with database design principles.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data
- Ensure data integrity by performing regular backups
- Optimize database performance by identifying and resolving any issues
- Develop and maintain database documentation
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of databases with other systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software upgrades and patches
- Conduct periodic testing to identify potential issues or vulnerabilities
- Troubleshoot errors or malfunctions in existing systems
Requirements:
- Biometric passport (or willing to obtain one)
