Job Title: Database Administrator for Contract Position in Svalbard


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator for a contract position in Svalbard. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and security of our database systems. This is a key role within our organization that requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient database systems in accordance with user requirements
- Monitor database performance, identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks
- Maintain data integrity and security through regular backups and disaster recovery plans
- Troubleshoot database problems as they arise, working closely with developers to find solutions
- Develop and implement data migration strategies between different database environments
- Ensure all database systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and upgrades
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall system performance and functionality

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
- Familiarity with data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL scripting
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary of 1700$ per month for this contract position.

Location:
This position is based in Svalbard, an archipelago located between Norway and the North Pole. While it is not a requirement for the candidate to be from this location, preference will be given to those who are willing to relocate.
