Librarian - Cataloger and Research Specialist



We are searching for a skilled Librarian to join our team in Svalbard. As a Cataloger and Research Specialist, you will be responsible for managing our library collection, organizing and cataloging materials, providing research assistance to patrons, and promoting library resources and services.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and catalog materials using standard classification systems
- Maintain accurate records of all library materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services
- Promote library resources through outreach programs and events
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop and implement new programs and services
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the library field
- Manage interlibrary loan requests from other libraries
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of standard cataloging systems such as MARC, AACR2, RDA, etc.
- Strong research skills and familiarity with various databases and online resources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Salary: $900 per month

This is a full-time position without accommodation. The working hours will be 40 hours per week.
