Part-time Librarian Assistant in Svalbard



We are in need of a part-time Librarian Assistant to join our team in Svalbard. This position is perfect for students looking to gain experience in the field of library science while earning some extra income. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian with various tasks, including cataloging, shelving, and helping patrons find materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the librarian with organizing and cataloging library materials
- Shelve books and other materials in their proper location
- Help patrons find books and answer basic reference questions
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the library space
- Provide excellent customer service to all library users

Requirements:

- Currently enrolled as a student (preferably in a library science or related program)
- Basic knowledge of library systems and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Must be able to commit to at least 10 hours per week

Salary:

This is a contract job with a salary of $1400 per month. Accommodation will also be provided for the duration of the contract.
