Part-time Interpreter in Oslo, Norway


We are in need of a part-time interpreter to join our team in Oslo, Norway. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services for our clients. Your main duties will include interpreting verbal communication from one language to another in real-time, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality, and ensuring cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for meetings, conferences, and events
- Interpret accurately and efficiently between two or more languages
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Ensure cultural sensitivity when interpreting for different clients
- Understand the subject matter being discussed to provide accurate interpretation
- Take notes and prepare written translations as needed
- Clarify any ambiguous statements or cultural nuances during interpretation
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding interpretation methods

Requirements:
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (Norwegian is preferred)
- Proven experience as an interpreter or related role
- Excellent verbal communication skills in both English and the other language(s)
- Strong understanding of different cultures and customs
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and think quickly on your feet
- Familiarity with technical terms used in different industries is a plus
- Must have own visa to work in Norway

This is a part-time position with flexible hours. We offer competitive compensation of 1200$ per month, as well as accommodation options if needed.
