Database Administrator

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Os, Norway. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure their security, efficiency, and reliability. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any database issues and implementing new systems as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. This is a contract position without accommodation or visa sponsorship available. This is an urgent job opportunity with a salary of $900 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the performance, integrity, and security of company databases
- Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues in a timely manner
- Optimize database performance by conducting regular performance tuning activities
- Develop processes for data backup, recovery, and migration
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration of database systems with other applications
- Implement new databases as requested by the company or clients
- Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, processes, and procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and migration processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently
- Good understanding of security protocols and data protection measures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred:
- Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Knowledge of cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL)
- Certifications in database administration (Oracle Certified Associate/Professional)
