Library Assistant


We are seeking a passionate and organized Library Assistant to join our team in the city of Os. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Librarian in maintaining and organizing the library's collection, providing excellent customer service to library patrons, and supporting various library programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Librarian with cataloging, classifying, and shelving materials
- Process new library materials including checking in, labeling, and preparing for circulation
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by helping patrons find materials, answering questions, and resolving issues
- Help plan and implement library programs such as storytimes, book clubs, and workshops
- Maintain the library's physical space by keeping shelves tidy, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting any maintenance needs
- Assist with collection development by identifying items for purchase based on community needs
- Collaborate with other staff members to promote library services through displays, social media posts, and outreach events
- Stay up-to-date on new technology trends in librarianship and assist patrons with using library resources effectively

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service mindset
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient in using technology including computers, printers, scanners, and online databases
