Pastry Chef - Os, Norway
As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, you will use your creativity and technical skills to develop new recipes and execute them with precision. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining high levels of food safety and hygiene standards, and training junior pastry staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and original recipes for pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Prepare and present all pastry items according to established recipes and plating guidelines
- Ensure the quality of all ingredients used in pastry production
- Maintain inventory levels for all pastry ingredients and supplies
- Manage waste control by utilizing proper techniques for storage and rotation of products
- Oversee the preparation of doughs, batters, fillings, icings, glazes or toppings for pastries
- Train junior pastry staff on proper techniques and procedures
- Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proven ability to create new recipes from scratch with innovative flavor combinations
- Knowledge of various baking techniques including but not limited to laminating doughs, chocolate tempering,
sugar work, etc.
- Familiarity with different types of ovens and equipment used in pastry production
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- High attention to detail with an eye for presentation
- Ability to maintain a clean work area at all times while following strict food safety guidelines
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary package starting at $1300 per month. The final salary will be determined based on your level of experience.
Location:
The role is based in Os, Norway. We welcome applications from all nationalities. However, preference will be given to candidates already residing in Os or willing to relocate.
