Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Bergen, Norway. Your main duty will be to assess the condition of these structures, develop plans for their preservation, and oversee the execution of these plans by construction workers and contractors.
You will work closely with government agencies, historical societies, and building owners to ensure that all preservation efforts are in compliance with local regulations and guidelines. You will also oversee the maintenance and repairs of existing historic buildings to prevent deterioration.
To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of architectural design principles, as well as knowledge of historic preservation techniques and materials. You must also have excellent project management skills to ensure that preservation projects are completed on time and within budget.
To be eligible for this position, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field, as well as at least 3-5 years of experience working on historic preservation projects. A Master's degree in Historic Preservation is preferred.
In addition to your qualifications, you must also have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders involved in the preservation process. You should also possess strong attention to detail to ensure that all preservation efforts are carried out accurately.
This is a full-time position with a salary of $1700 per month. We also provide free visa sponsorship and airfare to Bergen for international applicants.
