Interpreter (Russian-English)


We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced interpreter to join our team in Alta, Norway. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between Russian and English speakers in a variety of settings. This is a freelance position with a salary of 1000$ per day.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken conversations accurately and efficiently between Russian and English speakers
- Translate written documents from Russian to English and vice versa
- Provide cultural and linguistic context to ensure clear understanding between parties
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Adapt to different dialects, accents, and styles of speech
- Research technical terminology to ensure accurate interpretation
- Travel to various locations as needed for assignments

Requirements:
- Fluency in both Russian and English, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator in a professional setting
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and communicate clearly under stress
- Knowledge of relevant cultural customs, etiquette, and protocol for both Russian and English-speaking countries
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working quickly
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in translation, interpretation, or related field
- Certification from a recognized interpreting organization
- Experience working with legal or medical terminology

As this is a freelance position without accommodation provided, candidates must have their own valid visa/work permit for Norway. The ideal candidate will be highly reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently while also being a team player.
