Metal Worker
We are seeking a skilled Metal Worker to join our team in Alta, Norway on a contract basis. As a Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal structures, equipment, and machinery according to specifications. Your duties will include measuring and marking metal pieces, cutting and shaping them using various tools and techniques, and assembling them through welding or other methods. You may also be required to perform routine maintenance on existing metal structures or equipment.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in metalworking and possess strong technical skills. You must also be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams accurately. Physical strength and stamina are necessary as you will often be required to work with heavy materials and operate machinery. Attention to detail is crucial as you will need to ensure that all finished products meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark metal pieces according to specifications
- Cut, shape, and bend metal using tools such as saws, shears, drills, or grinders
- Weld or solder pieces together using appropriate techniques
- Grind down rough edges or welds to smooth out finished products
- Verify accuracy of finished products by comparing with blueprints or specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on existing metal structures or equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience in metalworking
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and diagrams accurately
- Proficient with hand tools such as saws, shears, drills, grinders etc.
- Experience with welding techniques such as MIG/TIG/stick welding
- Physical strength and stamina for working with heavy materials and operating machinery
- Attention to detail for ensuring accuracy of finished products
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Salary: 1500$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Alta, Norway
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
