Pastry Chef at a high-end restaurant in Alta, Norway



We are in search of a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in the beautiful city of Alta, Norway. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious desserts and pastries that will delight our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of desserts and pastries, including cakes, tarts, pies, and other baked goods
- Ensure all desserts and pastries are made to the highest quality standards and presented beautifully
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new dessert menu items that complement our current offerings
- Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and place orders as needed
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff on proper pastry techniques and recipes
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station at all times
- Follow all food safety regulations and procedures

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Knowledge of different pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
- Creativity and ability to develop new dessert ideas that will appeal to our customers' tastes
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all pastries are made to perfection
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines for special events or catering orders

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is preferred
- Must be able to speak English fluently; knowledge of Norwegian is an asset but not required
- Valid food handler's permit or certificate
- Strong physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, etc.

Salary: 1200$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
