Contract Mason - Alta, Canada


We are hiring a skilled Contract Mason to join our team in Alta, Canada. As a Contract Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick, stone or concrete blocks. Your main goal will be to ensure that all projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the materials needed for each project
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and leveling them, and mixing mortar according to specifications
- Lay bricks or other materials in horizontal courses using tools such as trowels, levels and jointers
- Cut or shape bricks, stones or blocks using hand or power tools
- Erect scaffolding or swing stages to provide safe access to work areas
- Repair existing structures by replacing damaged bricks or stones and applying new mortar joints
- Ensure that all work is completed according to building codes and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members and contractors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project completion

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mason, preferably in a contract position
- In-depth knowledge of masonry tools, equipment and techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to complete projects on schedule
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Working Conditions:
This is a contract position without accommodation provided. You will be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The job may also involve working at heights. You must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods of time.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1200 per week.
