Preservation Architect


We are a leading architecture firm based in Dickirch and we are seeking a talented Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that the preservation projects are completed successfully. Your main goal will be to protect the cultural and historical significance of these buildings while also making them functional for modern use.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the history, architecture, and materials of historical buildings
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Work with clients to understand their goals and needs for the project
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to implement preservation plans
- Inspect buildings for potential damage or deterioration and recommend necessary repairs or restoration work
- Create detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects
- Oversee construction work to ensure it is completed according to plan and within budget
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress
- Keep up-to-date with new preservation techniques and materials

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on historic preservation
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Preservation Architect
- Extensive knowledge of architectural history, conservation techniques, building codes, and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD) and other relevant programs
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles is preferred
