Smelter Operator



We are currently hiring for the position of Smelter Operator in our company located in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining smelting equipment to extract metal from ore, slag, or scrap.

Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting equipment such as furnaces, converters, and electrolytic cells to extract metal from ore, slag, or scrap
- Monitor process parameters and adjust controls as needed to ensure efficient operation
- Inspect equipment for malfunctions and perform minor repairs when necessary
- Monitor and record production data and maintain accurate records of materials used and produced
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and work with maintenance team to resolve any problems that arise
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks or trains using cranes or hoists
- Follow all health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; technical certificate or vocational training in metallurgy is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Smelter Operator or similar role
- Experience working with smelting equipment such as furnaces, converters, or electrolytic cells
- Good understanding of metallurgical processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects
- Good communication skills in English

Salary: 1400$ per month

This is a contract job without accommodation provided. However, we do offer visa sponsorship for suitable candidates.
