Preservation Architect

A leading architecture firm in Washington is seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team. This position requires a strong understanding of historic preservation principles and techniques, as well as excellent design and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture and at least 3 years of experience in preservation projects. Canadian or Filipino candidates with English fluency are preferred. This is a part-time position, with the potential for full-time employment. Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates. This role is suitable for both men and women with a passion for preserving our architectural heritage.

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys, researching historic buildings, preparing preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure that preservation work is carried out according to industry standards and project specifications.

Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations related to historic preservation, as well as experience working on projects that involve adaptive reuse or renovation of historic structures. Knowledge of architectural software such as AutoCAD or Revit is required.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be expected to present your ideas and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
