Executive Chef for Indian Fusion Restaurant in Bungoma, Kenya
We are seeking a skilled Executive Chef to lead our Indian fusion restaurant in Bungoma, Kenya. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for creating and executing a diverse menu that combines traditional Indian flavors with local ingredients. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute menu items that combine traditional Indian flavors with local ingredients
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production and presentation
- Manage inventory and food costs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with management team to create seasonal menus and special promotions
- Oversee ordering and receiving of food supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen area
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in an Indian restaurant or similar establishment
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Indian cuisine and ability to adapt it to local ingredients
- Strong leadership skills and ability to train and manage kitchen staff
- Proficiency in creating diverse menus that cater to different dietary preferences
- Knowledge of inventory management, food costs, and health & safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Biometric passport preferred
We offer a competitive salary of 1200$ per month for this full-time position. Accommodation is not provided, but we can assist with finding suitable housing options.
