Librarian - Sharjah, UAE



We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team at our library in Sharjah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. You will also assist patrons with reference inquiries and provide guidance on library services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field, strong communication skills in English, and the ability to work well independently. This position is suitable for men and open to Indian nationals. Salary offered is 1600$.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Catalogue new materials using the Dewey Decimal System
- Assist patrons with reference inquiries and provide guidance on library services
- Manage loan transactions and ensure timely return of borrowed materials
- Develop and implement programs to promote library resources to the community
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan events and workshops
- Stay updated on current trends in library science and make recommendations for new acquisitions
- Maintain the library's online catalog system

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Fluent English language skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Familiarity with reference resources and online databases
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a library is preferred
