Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to oversee the culinary operations of our upscale restaurant in Nakuru. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine dining and a creative approach to menu development. The Executive Chef will be responsible for managing the kitchen staff, creating and maintaining high quality dishes, and ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1500$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations including menu development, food preparation, and plating
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to source high quality ingredients
- Create new dishes and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Monitor inventory levels and control costs through efficient ordering, portion control, and waste management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen according to food safety standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and service flow between the kitchen and dining room

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong understanding of various cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and plating presentations
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with front-of-house staff
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain proper sanitation practices
- Creative thinking for menu development while also being able to work within budget constraints
