Blast Furnace Operator in Mombasa, Kenya


As a Blast Furnace Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process of iron and steel in our company's blast furnace. You will be responsible for operating and controlling the furnace, ensuring its efficiency and productivity. Your duties will include monitoring temperature and pressure levels, adjusting controls, loading materials, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

To be successful in this role, you must have practical experience working with blast furnaces and possess strong technical skills. You should also be physically fit to handle the demanding tasks involved in operating a blast furnace. A biometric passport is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the blast furnace according to safety protocols
- Control temperature and pressure levels to ensure proper functioning of the furnace
- Load materials into the furnace using cranes or other equipment
- Adjust controls as needed to maintain efficiency and quality of production
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on the furnace
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operation
- Maintain accurate records of production data and report any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with blast furnaces or similar industrial equipment
- Strong technical skills with the ability to read gauges, operate controls, and troubleshoot issues
- Physically fit to handle heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow safety protocols at all times
