Library Assistant (Part-time)
Location: Nakuru, Kenya


We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Library Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Library Assistant, you will assist in the daily operations of the library, including shelving books, processing new materials, and helping patrons locate resources. This position requires excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. No previous experience is required for this role, making it a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the library field. While proficiency in English is preferred, it is not required for this position. We welcome applicants of all nationalities and backgrounds. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Shelving books and maintaining the organization of the library shelves
- Processing new materials and cataloging them accurately in the library system
- Assisting patrons with locating resources and answering basic questions
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the library space
- Providing excellent customer service to all patrons
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Librarian

Requirements:
- Must have a biometric passport or be eligible to obtain one
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a library setting
- Proficiency in English
