Entry-Level Librarian



Our library in Malindi is seeking a passionate and dedicated Entry-Level Librarian to join our team. As an entry-level position, no prior experience is required, making it an ideal opportunity for freshers and those looking to start a career in library science.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating and accessing library materials
- Organize and maintain library collections, including cataloging and shelving books
- Conduct reference interviews to determine the information needs of patrons
- Provide basic research assistance to patrons
- Plan and implement engaging library programs for all ages
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop collection development strategies
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in library science and technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency with computer systems and basic research tools
- Passion for books, reading, and promoting literacy

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1700 per month, with potential for growth based on performance.

Location:
This position is based in Malindi, a beautiful coastal city in Kenya known for its beaches, historical sites, and vibrant culture.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in Kenya. Preference will be given to Indian nationals or those fluent in English.
