Electrician - Maintenance and Repair Specialist

As an Electrician - Maintenance and Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings. You will use your expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, as well as provide solutions to ensure the safety and functionality of electrical systems. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

- Install new electrical systems in accordance with building codes
- Perform routine maintenance on existing electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues
- Recommend solutions to improve energy efficiency and safety of electrical systems
- Respond to emergency calls for repairs or maintenance
- Collaborate with other professionals such as engineers or building contractors as needed
- Keep accurate records of all work performed

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in electrician trade is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an electrician in maintenance and repair work
- Strong knowledge of national and local building codes related to electrical systems
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues and provide effective solutions
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces if necessary
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy equipment or materials when needed
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-experts
