Librarian - Nizwa, Oman


As a Librarian in Nizwa, Oman, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, periodicals, multimedia materials, and other resources. You will assist library patrons in finding and using these resources while maintaining a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in the library.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an organized system for cataloging and shelving library materials
- Assist patrons in finding and using library resources
- Answer reference questions and provide guidance on research methods
- Plan and coordinate educational programs and events for library patrons
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment within the library
- Monitor the circulation of materials to ensure timely returns
- Keep accurate records of library transactions and inventory
- Collaborate with faculty members to integrate library resources into curriculum
- Stay informed about new developments in librarianship through professional development opportunities

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to assist patrons with varying needs
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Knowledge of current information technologies used in libraries
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus

Salary:
1500$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Working Hours:
40 hours per week, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Contract Type:
This is a contract position with the potential for renewal based on performance.

Accommodation:

Experience Level:
Previous experience working as a Librarian is required. This position is suitable for both experienced professionals and fresh graduates.
