Plasterboard Worker
As a Plasterboard Worker, you will be responsible for installing and finishing plasterboard in buildings and other structures. Your main duties will include measuring and cutting plasterboard to fit specific areas, attaching the boards to walls or ceilings using screws or adhesive, and then covering the seams with joint compound to create a smooth finish.
To be successful in this role, you should have prior experience working with plasterboard and be familiar with different types of joint compound and their uses. You should also have strong attention to detail and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Measure and cut plasterboard to fit specific areas
- Install plasterboard using screws or adhesive
- Cover seams with joint compound
- Sand down rough areas to create a smooth finish
- Repair any damaged areas of existing plasterboard
- Follow safety protocols at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with plasterboard
- Knowledge of different types of joint compound
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials
- Good communication skills in English (Malayalees preferred)
- Availability for part-time work (full-time may be offered in the future)
- Valid visa sponsorship (if required)
